Day 5 marks the last day of our mini-vaycay in North Carolina and my continual addiction to what "Fall" really feels like. We spent the morning bundled up and enjoying some local and seasonal breakfast (I leisurely sipped a hazelnut cappuccino with homemade syrup, too) at The Green Sage. I mixed black and grey stripes from the scarf with the plum, navy, cream and grey stripes in the tank and the mixed greys of my leggings. When I mix patterns, I pick one (occasionally two for accessory purposes) dominant color to maintain a color theme that threads throughout the entire look.
Wearing the boots through the airport helped free up space in my suitcase and worked well with my black fleece from the mountain morning excursion. The striped scarf is a staple in my travel packing because it can be snapped and worn several ways; including a shirt AND when completely undone, it doubles as a travel blanket. With all the cozy fabrics and layers, I refused to ditch my cool weather duds until our flight touched down in sunny Florida.
