On day three, my husband and I were flying to North Carolina and I needed an outfit that would keep me comfy through two flights and allow me to touch-down in Asheville, ready to explore. I knew my slip-on Converse sneaks would fit that bill and get me through airport security quickly.
What wouldn't get me through security as quickly was this stunner of a statement necklace. I fell in love with it during a recent trip to Anthropologie and in a flash of fore-sight, I must have considered it a muse for the blues of this chambray challenge. Airports and flying in general can start to zap my energy so I used this fun number to keep me upbeat and add intrigue to an other-wise simple outfit.
The base-layer and full look is a cornflower blue tank and striped leggings, topped with my dark-blue chambray button-down.
I even chose to wear this number out for dinner and drinks in downtown Asheville. We scored some amazing locally crafted beer at Wicked Weed (try their "Tea Party;" it's brewed with black tea and they serve it over ice...say whaaat? seems counter-intuitive but trust me) and later, a yummy champagne cocktail at The Southern (go easy on these... I sure didn't).
